Thurs. 26 September: 2 pm – 5 pm Porlock Weir CentreLast chance to visit our Centre this season.
Start of winter evening talks. The indoor meetings for talks are held at the Minehead Methodist Church Hall, The Avenue (just below the old hospital, opposite the Co-op.), Minehead.
Wed. 2nd October: 7.30pm at Methodist Church Hall, Minehead. Sammy Fraser: National Trust Riverlands Project.The aim of the project is to create rivers that are clean, healthy and rich in wildlife. Find out about this project’s work on Porlock’s Vale and Streams and how this is hoping to connect with locals.

Sat. 26th October: 2.15 pm. FUNGUS FORAY. Meet at our Natural History Centre at Porlock Weir Car Park for a walk towards Worthy Combe. Leader: Siân Parry
Wed. 6th November: 7.30pm at Methodist Chruch Hall, Minehead. Vanessa Mason: Exmoor’s Mammals from another perspective. Our recorder will give us an insight into the mammals of Exmoor from her experiences.
Tue. 12th November: 10 am. LUCKBARROW STUDY GROUP. Update on Water Voles and their introduction on the Holnicote Estate. Robert Rycroft.
Wed. 4th December: 7.30pm at Methodist Chruch Hall, Minehead. Christmas SocialSocial evening at the Methodist Church Hall. Please bring refreshments to share – we also hope to have some members’ pictures to show.

Please bring something to entertain us such as a quiz, puzzle, game, story or poem. Discuss future programme and enjoy a mince pie.
Wed. 8th January 2020: 2.30pm at Methodist Church Hall, Minehead. Please note different start time. Francis Farr-Cox: British Spiders. Francis is the Somerset Spider Recorder and will give us an insight into the many species to be found and their lifecycles.

Wed. 5th February 2020: 2.30pm at Methodist Chruch Hall, Minehead. Please note different start time: Derek Gow: Restoring Lost Beasts to Britain. Derek will tell us about his work as a specialist in water vole conservation, surveys, breeding, re-introduction and mitigation. He will also tell us about the other species and projects he is involved with.

Wed. 4th March 2020: 7.30pm at Methodist Chruch Hall, Minehead. Please note, evening talk : Dr Jochen Langbein of Langbein Wildlife Associates. From Monarchs of the Combes to Kings of the suburbs; much of the talk but not all will be about Exmoor deer , and indeed some Minehead ones! Last of our winter talks.
